Skin Needling

Skin needling is an effective way to tackle premature ageing and reset the clock on fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars and even pigmentation due to its ability to stimulate collagen and elastin production and thereby deliver plumper, younger-looking skin over time.

Skin Needling

It is the precise collagen stimulation, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), that makes clinical skin needling so much more than a single-purpose anti-ageing treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How Does Skin Needling/Dermal Needling Work?

Dermal Needling is easily performed using our medical grade motorised Needling System. This System uses a series of microscopic needles that is controlled by a unique motorized head to provide thousands of precision channels into the dermal and epidermal regions of skin. These needles cause multiple, tiny micro-punctures in the dermis. These micro-punctures stimulate growth factors in the skin and the post traumatic response produces collagen and elastin – two of the key building blocks of our skin. As the structure of the skin is largely left intact, the skin heals within 3-5 days post treatment.

Who is it suitable for?

Dermal Needling is suitable for all skin types and for people who want to eliminate and improve the appearance of acne scarring, eliminate visible signs of aging and rejuvenate their skin.

What should I expect after my treatment?

There is redness and may be mild swelling in the treated skin areas. Depending on the intensity of the treatment, you may experience light crusting for the following 7-10 days. Generally, your skin will heal within 3-5 days and you can resume your normal activities.

Can stretch marks be treated?

Another common skin concern that is often considered distressing for patients is stretch marks. Dermal Needling can help boost your  body confidence by targeting, treating and improving the appearance of stretch marks on the body. With each subsequent treatment, stretch marks will begin to fade as the damaged dermal collagen fibres are replaced with new, healthy collagen that distributes itself through the treated area.

What about pigmentation and enlarged pores?

Unsightly enlarged pores are a result of the pore stretching due to an overproduction of oil or sweat, or as an after-effect of acne lesions.Dermal Needling induces controlled micro wounds to the treatment area, stimulating collagen production that renews and tightness the pores.Starting from the first treatment, treated pores appear smaller and tighter, offering a clearer, smoother skin texture overall.

Skin Needling also provides effective treatment for epidermal, and even dermal pigmentation concerns by replacing the darkened melanin clusters with healthy, new collagen. Treatment is especially enhanced when used with topical brightening serums — the needle penetration allows the skin cells to drink in the active brightening ingredients deeper into the dermis to produce superior skin brightening outcomes.

How many treatments are recommended?

A minimum of 3-6 treatments are recommended to achieve the best results. The treatments are performed 2-4 weeks apart.
